factoids of february

Stuff I did this month:

Went to Chinatown and ended up in two Dim Sum places that have been visited by presidents.

We had a BBQ with Jeff and Melissa.

It rained.

So we took shelter in Books Inc/Peet's.

We had dinner in the Tonga Room, where we ate this giant mountain of ice cream.

And enjoyed the live band floating on a boat.

We ate vaguely heart-shaped foods on Valentine's Day.

And Nick created a three course fondue meal.

And I got a hedgehog onesie :)

There was a grand opening for the public art space in the apartment building that featured a lot of drums.

We finally found a decent place to get tacos.

Moby came to stay with us again.

We ventured through the Stuff store.

And bought a baby record.

And went to Zeitgeist.

I set up Holly3.

And visited the SF Public Library.

And finally got my library card.

There were a lot of visits to dog parks.

And we ate way too much at The Prime Rib House.

We enjoyed sunsets.

LOOK WHAT SAN FRANCISCO DOES TO PEOPLE!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Even when it is windy.

the 'f' key

My laptop decided to call it quits after five years of faithful service.

The most fitting eulogy I can think of for my old friend is that I apparently typed the 'F' key more than any other letter on her keyboard.

Shut down in peace, Holly2.

feminist love songs

I found a few more songs I thought could be improved, so I decided to fix them up for Valentine's Day.

james joyce love letters

In order to prepare you all for the disgusting displays of affection that are about to take place soon, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that love letters written by James Joyce to his wife Nora not only exist, but are horrifying.
I think Kate Beaton does the best in showing what it feels like to read one of these letters:

But seriously, be careful if you do tread down this road. There is no turning back.
