On the way there, we had to of course stop in a town named Weed.
We made a pit stop at the parking lot where the July 4th Zodiac murder was located.
Then we drove further down to Lake Herman Road to visit another Zodiac murder site.
In Ashland, we watched the US lose FIFA.
And drank from the lithium water fountain, which tasted like egg soda.
I bought a tiny Shakespeare book and Mia was not impressed.
We wandered in Lithia Park.
And were terrified beyond reason.
We saw The Tempest, The Cocoanuts, and had a back stage tour of the theaters.
And visited way too many bookstores.
Then stopped by Lithia Park again.
And art placed underneath a bridge.
Then Dylan found a way for us to play our favorite computer game from when we were kids.
Mia was also unimpressed by the egg soda.
We visited Tunnel 13, which is deemed the site of "The Last Great Train Robbery of the West", which I'm not sure why because it was neither "great" nor a "robbery".
It has been abandoned for awhile now.
We drove down "Bigfoot Scenic Highway".
Road tripping with a cat.
We drove through all three drive-thru trees along the west coast. Tree the first.
We saw the talking Paul Bunyan statue.
Babe had a nest in his nostril. He was also anatomically correct.
I realized I would never understand cats.
More Redwoods!
Drive thru tree the second.
Drive thru tree the third.
Duck butt ceiling in a diner.
We saw an opportunity and we took it.
Watched the 4th of July Fireworks in Cloverdale.
Then we visited a third Zodiac murder site.
And explored San Francisco.
Then I went back to work, but I can't really complain about that.
One reason being that my co-workers are the best.
Nick took me to Forbes Island, a lighthouse/boathouse/restaurant for my 25th birthday.
We took Addie to Fort Funston and she found her own island.
Sand heart nose.
I am now officially have helped break a Guinness World Record.
We went to a J Pop/Ramen festival in Japantown.
And worked super, super hard.
Then went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival.
And saw pretty things. The sunflowers, too.
much love,
hedgie
